OPEN CALL

Urban Commons School: Supporting programme

We, the team of the U!REKA project “Urban Commons Lab“, are looking for creative minds, inspiring formats, new content and hands-on supporters to shape the Urban Commons School in Frankfurt on 6 – 9 October 2021!

Our Urban Commons School revolves around participatory research projects and ideas on Urban Commons topics. What are commons? Why do we need community based cooperatives? How can we better shape urban living together in a social, democratic and sustainable way – to create a better future for everyone? These are the questons that currently arise and which we seek to discuss, negotiate and maybe even find solutions for at the Urban Commons School. At the moment, we are planning a hybrid event with both visiting international speakers and students and online participation.

In the workshops and research panels we will discuss different topics of the commons in sectors like social life and culture, mobility, climate change and housing, to name a few. In addition to that, we want to bring the commons spirit to the event. That’s why we are looking for students and other interested people who want to develop and contribute their ideas to our programme in Frankfurt.

It’s time to get creative! We appreciate all your ideas, be it a fleamarket, a reading group, a performance, music workshop or a movie night.

Are you interested in creating an exciting and diverse programme with us? We are looking forward to your contributions!

To apply, please send us a short description of your idea (1 page) with your name and your institution to ureka@io.fra-uas.de until 10 July 2021.

Best regards,

the Urban Commons Team Frankfurt
