Explore Ostrava and the region in Czech Republic! As part of the Erasmus+ BIP program “How to understand brownfields – threat or opportunity? Case study – Ostrava, Spring 2025” you will have the opportunity to visit interesting and unique structures and places connected with brownfields issues.
Brownfields represent specific structures and locations that are abandoned for various reasons. Usually, the origin relates to the termination of technological processes, a change of owners, but there can be a whole range of reasons. The brownfield localities can negatively affect the surroundings, but on the other hand, they also represent certain opportunities. The key is to design a suitable and viable use. This will be presented in a playful way within individual examples, and students will try out such a proposal on a specific case.
