U!R Commons Expo 2024
02.12. – 13.12.24 Forum of the Deutscher Werkbund Hessen, Weckmarkt 5, 60311 Frankfurt. Exhibition opening: 2.12. 19.00.
As part of the U!REKA Lab: Urban Commons and U!REKA European University, students of the Frankfurt UAS present their artistic-ethnographic and documentary research on urban commons initiatives as well as project proposals for the promotion of urban co-creation and commoning.
The U!REKA European University is a transnational alliance of six universities of applied sciences (Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Ghent, Helsinki, Lisbon and Ostrava) and 24 partners, who want to jointly shape the transition to climate-neutral societies. The U!REKA Lab: Urban Commons is one of the first initiatives that brings together all six partner universities of the international network.
During the exhibition, visitors can take a look at the recently completed (not yet published) publication, which summarises the results and experiences of the last 5 years of this joint international teaching and research within the framework of the U!REKA Lab: Urban Commons. It was presented for the first time at this year’s international network exchange meeting in Ostrava, where students and lecturers from the universities came together to exchange views on local urban planning and social issues.
The lecturers and curators of the exhibition in Frankfurt are Angelika Plümmer & Petra Schwerdtner (Fb Architecture, Geomatics, Civil Engineering) and Raul Gschrey & Katharina Stephan (Fb Social Work and Health).
