As part of the U!REKA Week 2025 in Frankfurt, Frankfurt-based students of the U!REKA Lab: Urban Commons and U!REKA European University present their artistic-ethnographic and documentary research on urban commons initiatives as well as project proposals for the promotion of urban co-creation and commoning.

The U!REKA European University is a transnational alliance of six universities of applied sciences (Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Ghent, Helsinki, Lisbon and Ostrava) and 24 partners, who want to jointly shape the transition to climate-neutral societies. The U!REKA Lab: Urban Commons is one of the first initiatives that brings together all six partner universities of the international network.

During the exhibition, visitors can also dive into the recently printed publication, which summarises the results and experiences of the last 5 years of this joint international teaching and research within the framework of the U!REKA Lab: Urban Commons. Furthermore, the exhibition and presentations offer glimpses into international Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs) and into other student work that deals with commons and commoning, in particular with respect to the NEB project vision31 on a former university campus of Frankfurt.

The lecturers and curators of the exhibition in Frankfurt are Angelika Plümmer & Petra Schwerdtner (Depertment of Architecture, Geomatics, Civil Engineering) and Raul Gschrey & Jutta Stocksiefen (Depertment of Social Work and Health).
